The person behind the name

Originally from Tokyo, Akiho Yoshizawa entered adult film in 2003 and expanded into television with Jōō in 2005. She joined the original Ebisu Muscats in 2008, bringing her work to music and variety-show audiences.

She left adult filmmaking in March 2019 after sixteen years. Acting remained part of her plans, while writing, cooking and new ways of meeting fans gave her room to explore a different working life.

Akiho Yoshizawa in her own words

From Tokyo to the screen

Yoshizawa began her adult-film career in 2003. Over the next sixteen years, acting became the core of a working life that also reached photography, television and music.

She received the best-actress award at the 2007 MOODYZ year-end celebration. Her publisher later presented the span of that career as the foundation of her autobiography.

Television and a wider audience

Her appearance in Jōō in 2005 placed Yoshizawa in television drama alongside her studio work. She also gained acting experience through direct-to-video films.

Those productions gave her a grounding in performance that she later brought to the stage. In her account, acting was a part of her career she wanted to continue beyond adult filmmaking.

The Ebisu Muscats years

Yoshizawa became an original member of Ebisu Muscats in 2008. The group grew out of television and gave her a different setting for performing and meeting an audience.

She has described this period as especially important to her recognition among women. Encounters with supporters while shopping showed her that the audience had widened beyond the people who knew her studio work.

Choosing a new chapter

Yoshizawa ended her adult-film career in March 2019. She made the decision after many years in the profession, rather than treating it as a break with a promised return.

Long-standing fans supported the change and thanked her for the years she had continued. Her retirement interview framed the decision around making room for a working life in which she could feel happy.

Learning to perform live

Hoshimori no Slum, staged in May 2021, marked her theatre debut. Live performance brought different demands from filmed work, especially vocal projection and the knowledge that a moment could not simply be retaken.

She described the nerves as a useful challenge. Seeing fans respond to her on stage strengthened her wish to keep acting in different settings.

Cooking and staying connected

After retiring, Yoshizawa took cooking and breadmaking lessons. She began her own cooking classes in March 2021, developing approachable dishes that participants could make again at home.

She also rediscovered how much she valued meeting supporters. Yoshizawakai gatherings created another space for that connection, while her later interviews emphasized building a career around activities she enjoyed.
