Akiho Yoshizawa

Akiho Yoshizawa in her own words

Writing gave Yoshizawa a way to revisit her screen career and assemble its changing stages into a longer personal story.

Turning sixteen years into a book

Kobunsha published Tantai Joyu: AV ni Sasageta 16 Nen in 2020. The six-chapter autobiography follows the development of Yoshizawa’s career, from her entry into the industry through changing production eras to her Muscats years.

The title can be understood as a reflection on sixteen years devoted to adult film. It is her retrospective account, rather than a collection of photographs alone.

The space to look back

Yoshizawa explained that leaving the industry allowed her to ask what those sixteen years had meant. Although a farewell photo book would have been possible, she wanted to put the experience into words.

Novelist Fuyuki Shindo, whom she knew through her agency, helped produce the project. She also expressed an interest in writing more after the memoir.

A wider shelf of writing

The National Diet Library catalogs Yoshizawa’s autobiography in Japanese under ISBN 978-4-334-95155-9. It records her as the author and Kobunsha as the publisher.

Its catalog also lists earlier books by her, including Date Shiyo! in 2011, Menkyo Kaiden! Akki no Renai Kyoshujo in 2014 and Konya wa Tomatchatte mo, Ii Kana… in 2016. Writing was already part of her public career before the autobiography.
